Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This acquisition is 100% set aside for small business concerns. The U.S. Geological Survey office at 345 Middlefield Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025, Earthquake Hazards Team, has identified a requirement to purchase thirty (30) replacement "Brand Name or Equal," Model FRGplusRE 900 MHz radios: 1. Radio shall operate in the 902 to 928 MHz range. 2. Unit shall have 60 miles range, point to point, clear line of site. 3. Offer secure communication. 4. Survive extended field operations. 5. Provide consistent strong signal in remote locations. 6. Lightweight and easily transported. In addition to providing pricing, offerors shall include the following description for the product with their quotations: Product Name: Manufacturer's Name: Address: Product make, model, or catalog description: In accordance with provision 52.211-6, Brand Name or Equal, offerors shall also be responsible for submitting all additional information on the above product necessary for the Government to determine whether the product offered meets the salient characteristics as listed above. If they have provided a radio of this type to previous clients, contact information shall be provided. DELIVERY ADDRESS U.S. Geological Survey Attn: David Croker 345 Middlefield Road Menlo Park, CA 94025 METHOD OF EVALUATION Prospective contractors are advised that quotations will be evaluated based upon the following, listed in order of importance: 1.) Technical Acceptability - items will be evaluated on a pass/fail basis - proposed item must meet all salient characteristics to be determined acceptable. 2.) Price. Quotations are due by 12 PM local time, 13 Aug 07, to the Purchasing Agent in Sacramento, CA identified below. Offers received after this time and date will not be considered. Offers are preferred by electronic means (email and fax), but are accepted by mail. Oral quotations will not be accepted. Prospective contractors are advised that the following provisions are applicable to this solicitation document.
