- Description
- The Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Marine and Aviation Operations, Marine Operation Center has a requirement for dockside repairs to the NOAA vessel KA?IMIMOANA. The contractor shall provide all facilities, supervision, material, and labor necessary to perform modifications, repairs, and preservation to the NOAA vessel KA?IMIMOANA. The dockside shall be accomplished at the contractor?s facility. Performance of work is scheduled to begin November 5, 2007 and continue through January 11, 2008. The vessel will be available for pre-bid inspection in Honolulu HI., September 10 through 11, 2007. A pre-bid inspection can be arranged by calling the vessels Port Engineer at (206) 553-4547. The work consists of approximately 9 basic items, and 15 optional items. Basic work includes, but is not limited to; accomplish Main Propulsion Generator Engine Major Overhauls; replace Fuel Oil Cross-connect Valve; replace Bilge Suction Cutout Valve; replace Deck Socket; blast and preserve Mission Working Deck; modify Air Supply to the Dive Compressor; replace Start Air Compressor. Optional Items include, but are not limited to; install Roller Plate; replace uncontaminated SW Piping; replace Wet Lab Drains; blast and preserve Potable Water Tanks; repair, blast, and preserve Boat Deck; refurbish Line Locker Hatches; replace F.O. Fill Valves; replace Deck Grating; inspect and repair Aft Capstans; repair Shore Power Cable; repair Main Generator Room Vent Fans; inspect and repair Main Propulsion Motor Bearings; accomplish VSAT Installation and Main Mast Replacement. General Vessel specifications: length 224ft; Breadth (molded) 43ft; Draft 15ft; Hull: Welded steel/ice strengthened; Displacement 2,301 tons; Gross Tonnage 2,014; Net Tonnage 604. The NAICS code for this procurement is 336611 and the size standard is 1,000 employees. Any resulting contract will be awarded as a firm-fixed price contract.
