- Description
- Improved LAV Cooling System Kit. This is a 2nd Modification to a previous notice and provides a summary of the Governments requirement and adds the NAICS code of 336399. The original Pre-Solicitation Notice was incomplete. A modification to the 1 st notice was issued on 7-26-07, detailing the requirements of the Cooling System, however, I could not find it in FBO. I am issuing this 3rd notice, that is similar to the 2nd notice and it contains more detail than the 1st notice. A quantity of up to 8 73 Improved LAV Cooling System Kits are required for the Light Armored Family of Vehicles (LAV FOV). The IMPROVED LAV COOLING SYSTEM KIT will upgrade the performance of the existing LAV radiator, Part Number 10502053, and adds a fuel cooler to the vehicle . The IMPROVED LAV COOLING SYSTEM KIT upgrades shall be designed into a configuration that performs its functions within the existing LAV radiator space claim. As a minimum, the Kit shall consists of, the following: radiator, radiator cap, drain cock, overflow hose, fuel cooler with attaching bracket, long and short fuel hose assemblies with quick-disconnects. It is required that the IMPROVED LAV COOLING SYSTEM KIT interface with the existing LAV cooling tower, and provide a common mounting for the hyd raulic cooler, P/N 10500579, without any modifications to the vehicle, the vehicles plumbing, cooling tower, or installation of the cooling tower, excluding the fuel lines, which shall be modified to accommodate the fuel cooler. Modifications to the fuel lines must be such that in the event of a fuel cooler failure, the cooler can be bypassed without the need for any tools. The Offerors are required to submit a bid sample, with their proposal, at no cost to the Government. A solicitation will be issued on, approximately on August 10, 2007, and closing approximately 30 days after its issue date (refer to the Solicitation, when it is issued, for specific dates). To access this Solicitation, after August 10, 2007, or to see more of TACOMs Acquisitions an d awards now, visit TACOMs web page at http://contracting.tacom.army.mil/opportunity.htm.
