Description

The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a purchase order on a sole source non-competitive basis to Applied Biosystems Group, 301 Merritt 7, Norwalk, CT, 06851-1070. Item1 oMaldi source (Serial Num 114020802) AB Assurance 0pm, Period of coverage 9/25/2007 to 9/24/2008. Item 2 QStar XL system (Serial Num T0490212) AB Assurance 2pm, Period of coverage 9/25/2007 to 9/24/2008. Item 3 Peak Generator LC/MS/MS (Serial Num J2-07-05) AB Assurance 2pm, Period of coverage 9/25/2007 to 9/24/2008. Applied Biosystems Group will provide a 1 year service contract from 9/25/2007 ? 9/24/2008. Applied Biosystems is the only manufacturer which has all the required documents and schematics necessary to service Applied Biosystems Mass Spectrometers, so that they are maintained at design specifications. The specifications necessary to manufacture spare parts are proprietary to Applied Biosystems. Applied Biosystems does not have a distributor of parts, and they directly train their own Field Service Engineers on their equipment. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. However, sources may submit descriptive literature, fully documenting their capabilities, which will be considered by the agency. A determination to compete this procurement based on response(s) to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The FDA intends to make an award immediately after the response date of this notice. The award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
