Description

The US Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c) (1), with SAS Worldwide, of Frederick, MD, to acquire follow-on software subscription services. Services are requ ired for the US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious diseases (USAMRIID). Sole source determination is based on the Governments need for a contractor with (a) software possession capability of data analysis or validation services that link with F DA for submission of statistical data. SAS is uniquely qualified to meet the Governments need due to their validation software, extensive system of medical and basic research data for the past 16 years and their link with over 7,500 data and program file s. The period of performance will be for a base year and one option year. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by July 31, 2007, will be considered by the Go vernment. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determin ing whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
