- The A/E shall provide all architectural and engineering services to accomplish complete drawings, specifications, technical, and cost estimates to completely demolish and redesign approximately 18,000 s.f of space for a new inpatient psychiatry ward, consisting of 25 private/semi-private beds with private bathrooms at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery, Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Jackson, MS 39216. The new ward shall meet the latest design criteria for Mental Health and Behavioral Care Units. The AE will provide design development submission at 25%; 50%; 75%; 100% and Final Submission. AE will also provide construction period services for this project. Required documents typically include schematics preliminary plans, working drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents (final drawings, specifications, and cost estimates). Area of consideration is restricted to 100 driving miles of the VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Estimated construction cost is between $2, 000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00. NAICS Code 541310 applies. Firms desiring consideration must submit two (2) copies of SF330 Architect Qualification with appropriate documentation by close of business August 21, 2007. Mail information to: G.V. Selection criteria will be based on the order of preference based on demonstrated competence and qualifications necessary for the satisfactory performance of the type of professional services required, that include: (1) Professional capabilities; (2) specialized experience/technical competence and recent experience, as required in the design of Psychiatric Patient Wards with a list of such projects; (3) capacity to accomplish work in the required time; (4) past performance on contracts with respect to cost control, quality of work, and noncompliance with performance schedules; (5) geographical location and knowledge of the locality of the project; (6) any other special qualification required under this announcement by the contracting activity.
