Description
The Dept of Veterans Affairs intends to sole source for the following requirement for global technical assistance for electronic data interchange (EDI) development applications at national and site levels to U.S. Business Communications, 1464 Misty Sea Way, San Marcos, CA. 92078. The North American Industry Classification System code is 541511 with a Size Standard NTE $21,000,000 dollars. The U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Chief Business Office, Business Development utilizes software product to resolve electronic claim issues relating to the transmission of data to payers and/or WebMD; Develop and implement technical solution(s) to resolve issues associated with the implementation of HIPAA-compliant systems, including but not limited to Claims, IV, Pharmacy, e-Payments, MRA, and NPI in e-Transactions. These services are mission critical to the legislative mandates of Title II of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act implementation of emerging policy, processes, and technical toolsets for the Veterans Health Administration. The continuation of these services allows for uninterrupted and immediate access for resolutions of current work in progress that is dynamically changing due to factors external to VHA, for example, the variability of health plan readiness as VHA interacts with over 1600 health plans nationwide in conducting these business activities. This continuation stabilizes the effectiveness of the program for maximum efficiency and with minimal interruption of system. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis of intent, the Contracting Officer may determine that the action may be competed. A determination by the Government not to competee this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
