Description

The work consist of harvesting Douglas-fir cones at the Walter Horning Tree Seed Orchard by climbing trees and using motorized lifts and/or orchard ladders when collecting the cones from selected trees within the orchard. These selected trees are located on 32 acres in three (3) separate orchard units on a 2% to 8% slope. Tree heights range from approximately 25 ft. to 45 ft. tall. Contractor timeliness in meeting the requirements of this contract is vital due to cone maturity and potential loss of seed. Project site is located at the Walter Horning Tree Seed Orchard, Salem District, Oregon. This solicitation will be posted electronically. Paper copies are no longer available. Estimated issue date is August 2, 2007. This solicitation is set aside for small business concerns. See Numbered Note(s): 1.
