- The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), intends to procure a quantity of one (1) new Octek QK System; A quantity of two (2) Streptavidin, SBC Biosensors Case (5x32); quantity of (3) Amine Reactive Biosensors, Case (5) and a Seat License Analysis (Single) from ForteBio, 1360 Willow Road, Menlo, CA 94025, under the authority of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 6.302. The requirements necessary for the Octek OK System are (1) Shall be capable of label-free measurements of protein interaction using biolayer interferometry in real time with bioreactive fiber optic sensors. The fundamental unit of measurement shall be nm; (2) Shall be capable of reporting affinity information, kinetics information and performing quantitation on crude or purified samples; (3) Shall be able to measure molecular interactions at concentrations ranging from ~5 picomolar to ~ 1 millimoloar; (4) Shall be able to measure association rate constants in the range form 1000 to 10 million M-1s-1 and dissociation rate constants in range from 10-5 to 10-1 s-1; (5) Shall be able to process a minimum of eight samples simultaneously; (6) Shall be able to quantitate eight samples simultaneously in 2 minutes and 32 minute for a 96-well plate; (7) Shall require no more than 200 microliter sample volume per well; (8) Shall be non-destructive to the sample and sample should be recoverable; (9) Acceptable sample types shall include proteins, antibodies, peptides (>1Kda), serum containing media (up to 10%), DMSO containing buffers, periplasmic fractions, untreated cell culture supernatants and crude cell lysates; (10) Shall offer biosensors with the following surface chemistries; Amine Reactive with regeneration capability, streptavidin, Protein A, Anti-human IgG (Fc specific), Murine Anti-IgG and (11) Shall include an integrated software package for operation and analysis that includes a license for Orgin Software. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however all responses received, before the closing date of this announcement will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. It is anticipated that the Request for Quotation (RFQ) NIH-NIDDK-0322 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication of this synopsis. Receipt of quotation will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. Request for copies of the RFQ shall be emailed to Tina Robinson @ robinsti@mail.nih.gov or faxed to 301-480-4226. NOTE: In order to receive an award from the NIDDK; contractors must have a valid registration in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) www.ccr.gov.
