Description
Performance work Statement(PWS) is followed as below: 1. Scope This Performance Work Statement establishes the criteria and specifications for a request for non-personal services being procured for the provision of Photojournalism training for AFN-Korea broadcast and production personnel. 2. Description of Work The training will be a Videography Workshop. The instructors will provide classroom and individual training in electronic news gathering, camera techniques, video editing and story-telling using National Press Photographer Association (NPPA) endorsed tech niques. Training will include verbal instruction, examples of video reports supporting the techniques, camera equipment demonstrations and critiques of students work. Students will attend as participants who are given video assignments, and as observers who do are not given assignments. Participants will receive assignments, produce video products and will receive individual critiques from their assigned instructor. All instruction and critiques will be in the English language. While participants are completing assignments, instructors will critique network products and discuss with detachment commanders and representatives of contributing organizations about exporting training to their stations and agencies. AFN-Korea will receive an overall assessme nt of students capabilities and progress, and suggestions by the instructors for follow-on training of each participant. The period of the training will be from 17 Sept 2007 to 20 Sept 2007 (4 Days). 3. The qualification of Instructor Instructors must meet the following minimum requirements: A. Ten years of commercial broadcast experience with expertise in broadcast journalism script writing and news production techniques. B. Proficiency in operating state-of-the-art digital broadcast systems, i.e., Electronic News Gathering cameras and digital editing systems. C. Proficiency in lighting techniques for in-door and outside locations. D. Experience with instructing broadcast journalism techniques targeted to military broadcast journalists and photo journalists. E. Ability to provide one-on-one assessments of the students work assignments. F. The instructors must have the NPPA endorsed certification by the Director of the NPPA NewsVideo Workshop to instruct this class. 4. Requirements A. Required seminar material will be provided by the contractor, as needed. B. Place of performance: AFN-Korea Headquarters, Building 1358, U.S. Army Garrison- Yongsan, Republic of Korea. C. Smoking is not permitted within the AFN building or classroom by the contractor. Please Note: Offerors' proposals must be submitted to this Contracting Command Korea (CCK) office no later than 0800 HRS Korea time on 23 July 2007.
