- Description
- VA Medical Center, Indianapolis, IN will be accepting sealed bids on or about August 23, 2007. This Invitation for Bid is 100% set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). NAICS Code 236220, size standard $13.0 mil applies. This project has a magnitude construction range between $100,000 and $250,000. The lightning protection contractor shall provide all tools, equipment, material, labor, and supervision necessary to correct all lightning protection deficiencies for Bldg 1, West Tenth Street and all campus outbuildings and provide a master UL lightning protection certificate and label, which shall be attached to Bldg 1, West Tenth Street (with appropriate documentation) for all West Tenth Street campus buildings at the VAMC, located at 1481 W. Tenth Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. A site walk-through will be required by the lightning protection contractor in order to determine the areas where lightning protection components will need to be replaced and where additional components may be needed in order to acquire the master UL lightning protection certificate and label. A site walk-through will be required by the roofing contractor in order to determine the areas where roofing patchwork is required. A roofing contractor will be required to provide and install all wear pads, stripping, heat welded strips, pavers or battens. All lightning protection work shall meet compliance with UL 96A and LPI 175 lightning protection codes. Once all work has been completed, the lightning protection contractor will be required to provide marked up as-built drawings showing where all replacement work and additional work was accomplished. Time to Completion: 120 Calendar days from Notice to Proceed. Bidders are reminded that all work shall take place in a healthcare environment and must conform to all applicable codes and standards for the Department of Veterans Affairs as well as state, local and Federal requirements. Bids will be publicly opened at place and time to be specified in the invitation. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for August 7, 2007 at 2:00 p.m., at VAMC, 1481 W. 10th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46202, Engineering Bldg. 5. All prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. Telephone requests for information WILL NOT be honored. Questions concerning the solicitation shall be either mailed to the Contracting Officer or faxed to 317-988-1809. Amendments will be posted through FedBizOpps. Bidders are advised that no contract will be awarded to any firm not listed in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. Prospective bidders are strongly urged to visit the CCR website at www.ccr.gov to ensure all registration requirements are current. Solicitation will be issued on or about July 25, 2007. Contract award is subject to the availability of funds.
