Description: Perry Mechanical Tree Density Reduction Project: The Lincoln National Forests, Smokey Bear Ranger District has a requirement for the reduction of tree densities and slash Treatment on 489 acres that qualify as Wildland Urban Interface (WUI). The purpose of work is to reduce fire and fuel hazards through reduction of tree density and subsequent slash treatment. For this solicitation it is preferred that woody vegetation treatments be completed using mechanized equipment designed to masticate designated vegetation. Slash-treatment will be implemented on site through the mulching of created slash that is generated as a result of thinning treatments. See section M for treatment rating classification.
