Description
The U. S. DOI, Office of the Chief Information Office (OCIO) Project Management Office (PMO) needs to provide quality project management planning support services to the Department of the Interior (DOI, Interior) program/business offices (via their integrated project teams, IPT) responsible for managing their of information technology (IT) investments. This strategy would create cadre of qualified vendors for providing project management planning expertise and assistance to Interior's program/business offices. The acquisition goals include: 1) Develop a cadre of qualified vendors to assist Interior's program offices with their project management planning requirements. 2) Raise the quality of Interior's project management planning. 3) Reinforce Interior's Life Cycle Standards. Interior manages nearly $1 billion of IT investments annually representing 56 major investments and significantly more non-major investments. Each investment is unique, directly supporting a mission or a management responsibility of the Department. There are always new IT investments going through development and existing IT investments going through modernization or enhancement. To assist Interior's program/business offices, OCIO is supplementing Interior's pool of in-house project management expertise with qualified contractors. The Office of the Chief Information Office (OCIO) Project Management Office (PMO) is having a vendor "open house" to discuss this strategy. The open house details are as follows: Subject: Project Management Planning Support Services Location: Department of the Interior, Yates Auditorium Address: 1849 'C' Street, NW, Washington, DC 20240 Date: Tuesday, July 17, 2007 Time: 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM "PROJECT MANAGEMENT PLANNING SUPPORT SERVICES" July 17 Meeting Agenda: 1) Overview & Goals 2) Interior's Project Management Standards 3) Question & Answer Session 4) Vendor Feedback (Survey) For further information, including formatted Scope of Work / Statement of Objectives, please contact Contracting Officer, Donald Klontz, at 202-208-6721; dklontz@nbc.gov or Technical POC, Will Brimberry, at 202-208 6052; wobrimberry@ios.doi.gov
