Description: Classification Code: F= Natural Resource Management Product Code: F004 = Forest Fire Rehabilitation NAICS Code: 115310 = Support Activities for Forestry (FAC 1977-0727, Revision 9-15-2006 ) The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Redding Field Office, Redding, CA require the service of the following: OPTION ONE IS AS STATED BELOW: -Description of Work: The purpose of this project is to conduct a forest vegetation inventory using walkthrough surveys within individual pre-identified vegetation polygons. The data related to each polygon will then be entered into a BLM database called FORVIS and both a hard copy and electronic copy of the data will be submitted to the BLM official. There are two options for data entry: (1) manual entry using Microsoft Access on a PC or (2) electronic field data collection and uploading using an Allegro field PC. Digital photos taken from reference points will also be required for each polygon. -Description of Vegetation Polygons: The polygons to be inventoried will be predetermined and selected by the BLM office. Aerial photos and GIS maps will be available showing polygon boundary locations. Polygon boundaries and their associated i.d's are identified on the polygon location maps. When requested by the contractor, the COR or PI will provide assistance in boundary location. The mean polygon size to be inventoried is 165 acres, with a maximum of 1595 acres, a minimum of 12 acres and a median of 106 acres. -Location of Project: The project area is Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands within the boundaries of Shasta County, California. Maps will be attached to the RFQ when posted. -Access: Access to the project area will be over state, county, private and BLM road systems with a variety of road surfaces, i.e., pavement, gravel, or dirt (see project vicinity and the stand maps, Exhibit 2). Walking will be required to access many of the polygons OPTION TWO: (This option may or may not be exercised either in partial or entirety in FY 2007.) -Work description ,etc is the same as above. - Description of VegetationPolygons: Similar to above. Acreage is estimated at 167,403 acres. -Location of Project: The Project area is Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands within the boundaries of Siskiyou, Tehama, and Butte Counties, California. Maps will be attached to the RFQ if this option is going to be exercised in FY 2007. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, supplies, supervision, tools, materials, equipment, permits, and transportation necessary to provide the above service at the locations noted per the Solicitation. General locations of the above areas are shown on the map(s) attached to the formal RFQ which is being submitted as a combined synopsis. Elevation Range is from 2500 feet to 4000 feet. Estimated start date for the project is Sept 3, 2007 with a completion date of December 14, 2007. The Statement of Work will cover the General Information, Description of Work, and Stipulations which will apply to this project. The Contractor is responsible for reading, understanding, and complying with the SOW to assure that all requirements and regulations pertaining to this job are adhered to.
