Description

The Bureau of Reclamation, Mid-Pacific Region intends to issue an Invitation for Bid for a firm-fixed price construction contract for road repairs at Glory Hole Recreation Area Access Roads and New Melones Dam Access Roads. The principal components of the work to be performed under the specifications include the following: removal and replacement of asphalt concrete and aggregate base material, sealing of roadway and parking lot surfaces, re-striping, and the repair of guardrails and shoulders. The Glory Hole Recreational Area will also require the installation of French drains, a paved walkway and corrugated metal pipe at the Angel's Creek parking lot, repair and widening of bituminous down drains, erosion repair, the paving of three parking lots, grinding and compacting of pavement to conform to proper grades, and the construction of new speed bumps at the entrance station. Also, reconfiguration of parking areas at the Angel's Creek parking lot including removal and installation of concrete curbs to accommodate angled parking. Additional work at the New Melones Dam Access Roads includes erosion repair near the gate house, repairs of two sloughed embankment areas, installation of new corrugated metal pipes at the damaged embankment areas, and the construction of new curbs. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237310 and the related small business size standard in dollars is $31.0. The estimated cost of this project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. IAW FAR 19.1305 "HUBZone set-aside procedures" this requirement is restricted to HUBZone small business concerns. Solicitation 07SI200184 will be posted at http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about July 24, 2007. The estimated date for receipt of bids is August 23, 2007. This requirement will require 100% performance and payment bonds. Details concerning the site visit and how to register will be located in Section L of the solicitation. The solicitation and specifications must be downloaded at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. No paper copy of this solicitation will be distributed with the exception of the drawings. You must register on the Bidder's Mailing List to receive the drawings. Prospective contractors must be registered prior to award. Lack of registration in the CCR and ORCA database will make an offeror ineligible for award.
