- SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. This request is an announcement for information/market research for planning purposes. The synopsis does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, invitation for bid nor does its issuance in any way restrict the Government as to its ultimate acquisition approach. The 377th Contracting Squadron, Kirtland AFB, New Mexico, is seeking potential sources to provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision and other items and services necessary to provide the following items: Item 1: Level IV Silicon Carbide Stand Alone Hard Armor Plates, 10? x 12? Rifle Plates, 5.4 lbs., .73? thick, 100% monolithic carbide tile, also defeats multi-hit (X6) from 7.62 x 39 steel core, 7.62 x 51 M80, 5.56 SS109, 7.62 x 54; 150 front plates and 150 back plates Item 2: Level IV Silicon Carbide Stand Alone Hard Armor Plates, 8? x 10? Rifle Plates, 3.8 lbs., .73? thick, 100% monolithic carbide tile, also defeats multi-hit (X6) from 7.62 x 39 steel core, 7.62 x 51 M80, 5.56 SS109, 7.62 x 54R; Front plate: 50 quantity; back plates: 50 quantity THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP).
