- FA2823-07-R-0026 Questions and Answers 2: 1. Question: When attaching the optical polygon, is it acceptable to attach the optical polygon to the back side of the position transducer or will you require that the optical polygon be mounted to the gimbal itself? Answer: We are measuring the gimbal position error at varying commanded positions. As long as the optical polygon is attached to the gimbal to measure the gimbal position/movement we will be satisfying the position requirement of the acceptance test. Therefore, the optical polygon should be attached to the gimbal itself. 2. Question: Should we quote systems with less accuracy as an option since the original mechanical portions of these systems were not designed to meet these specifications? Answer: There should be no problem meeting system accuracy specs. Therefore, you should NOT quote systems with less accuracy as an option.
