- Description
- The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Norfolk Contracting Department, Philadelphia Division intends to solicit on another than full and open competition basis for telecommunication support services in support of the Defense Supply Center, Philadelphia, PA. Specifically, the services shall provide for the installation of a secondary Rate Demarcation Point located at DSC Philadelphia with a maximum capacity of 550 analog lines and 50 ISDN lines for a total amount of 600 lines. Request for Quotation N00189-07-Q-1979 contemplates a firm fixed priced modification action which will be issued under current contract N00140-06-D-0028 with Verizon Federal, Inc. of Washington DC. The estimated completion date of the required services is approximately 120 days after effective date of the modification. This announcement constitutes the only notice; a proposal is being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The procurement is being processed through other th an full and open competition pursuant to the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis with Verizon Federal, Inc. who is the current provider of Centrex telephone service and maintenance to DSC Philadelphia under the existing contract. As the Local Exchange Carrier, Verizon Federal, Inc is the only source with the capability of satisfying the Government?s requirements. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to comp ete this proposed procurement action based on the responses received i s solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for information received. The NAICS code is 517110 and the business size standard is 1,500 employees.
