- The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), in support of the Program Executive Office - Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence (PEO-C4I), Networks, Information Assurance (IA), and Enterprise Services Program Office (PMW 160), intends to competitively procure the design, development and production of the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) system. PMW 160 is hosting CANES Industry Day, which will be held in San Diego, California, on 31 July 2007, at The Handlery Hotel and Resort, located at 950 Hotel Circle North, San Diego, California 92108, from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. (PDT). Check-in will be from 7:30 a.m. ??? 7:55 a.m. Briefings will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. The purpose of this CANES Industry Day is to discuss and seek input from Industry on the current technical strategy and requirements for the CANES system as well as to discuss the contracting strategies currently being considered by the Government. The Government intends to hold a series of briefings, each followed by a Question and Answer (Q&A) session that will allow Industry to ask questions and offer comments in an open forum. In addition, anonymous question boxes will be provided for questions to be submitted in writing. All questions must be submitted by the close of CANES Industry Day. All submitted questions and answers will be made publicly available on the SPAWAR E- Commerce Central website (https://e- commerce.spawar.navy.mil) following CANES Industry Day. CANES Industry Day will be open to all interested parties who are currently registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. Interested parties must register in advance for CANES Industry Day by sending an e-mail request to Ms. Jerika Soule at soule_jerika@bah.com or by phone at (619) 725-6970. The e- mail request should include the company name, Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code (if applicable) and the name of each attendee. No reservations will be accepted after 24 July 2007. Attendance is limited to three (3) participants per company. All participants will be required to check- in prior to the CANES Industry Day. Attendees will be required to show picture identification at check-in. If any changes need to be made as to individual participants, please contact Ms. Jerika Soule at soule_jerika@bah.com or by phone at (619) 725-6970 to update registration information accordingly. Room capacity for the CANES Industry Day is very limited. Therefore, only those attendees who have registered prior to the 24 July 2007 deadline will be admitted. The Government will make every effort to post the CANES Industry Day briefings to the SPAWAR E-Commerce Central website (https://e- commerce.spawar.navy.mil) by 27 July 2007 to allow attendees to review the briefings prior to the event.
