Description
The Department of the Navy requests a Logistics Engineering Change Proposal (LECP) for improvements to, and subsequent 5-year repair support for, the T700 Turbine Engine Starter, Part Number 36D831711G4 / 214-060-056-109, NSN 7RE 2925-01-476-3224 AH, used on the AH-1W Helicopter. The Navy requests a proposal that includes all non-recurring engineering and tooling costs, the total cost to retrofit/modify the quantity of approximately 480 each Turbine Starters currently in active use, and repair support of the quantity of up to approximately 480 modified Turbine Starters. The Navy seeks a significant improvement in the reliability of the Turbine Starter in order in increase Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) for this item. The improved item resulting from the changes may supersede the current item configuration and part numbers noted above for repair and spares support. Potential offerors must have complete repair capability as the retrofit/modification is required to be completed on an attrition basis as Turbine Starters are removed for repair; repair of the modified starter will occur thereafter. Source approval for repair/LECP retrofit of the Turbine Starter is required with the current approved repair sources being Smiths Aerospace (1R9D8) and Innovative Power Solutions (1M2T3). Expressions of interest are due no later than 10 days after the date of this synopsis. The Navy point-of-contact is David Gioia, Contracting Officer, NAVICP code 0225.02, Phone 215-697-3189, FAX 215-697-3746, email: david.gioia@navy.mil.
