- The Government intends to award the contract to HITACHI PLANT TECHNOLOGIES LTD, 1-35 TEN-YAMACHI, HAKATA-KU, FUKUOKA JAPAN 812-0025 as non-competitively pursuant to Far 6.302-1, however, prospective sources have a meaningful opportunity to demonstrate their ability to satisfy the requirements as follows; The Contractor shall perform overhaul/repair work to air compressors in accordance with "OVERHAUL/REPAIR SCHEDULE". Air compressors to be repaired shall be No.2 and No.3 Air Compressors in Bldg. 1647. The type of compressors to be overhauled is Hitachi-SRM Screw Type Compressor, SDS-180 and SDS-105. Some of its characteristics are: SDS-180; Capacity : 950 cfm, Pressure : 125 psi, Motor : 230 kw, Age : Feb 1997; SDS-105; Capacity : 400 cfm, Pressure : 125 psi, Motor : 115 kw. (a) The Contractor shall disconnect air compressors from related piping to isolate them from air compressor plant in accordance with the approved construction schedule, and place blind flange on dried air pipe at the point of disconnection. (b) The Contractor shall disassemble disconnected air compressors for overhaul/repair, in accordance with manufacturer's manuals. Actual overhaul/repair work, including plant confirmation tests and shall be performed at the Contractor's yard. Prior to overhaul/repair work, the Contractor shall transport air compressors to the Contractor's yard. (c) After overhaul/repair work and plant confirmation tests, air compressors shall be transported to original location in the Government controlled area and the Contractor shall perform final confirmation tests. (d) Materials listed as Government Furnished Materials (GFM) in Paragraph 1.4.1 of Section 01011 will be furnished by the Government. All materials excluding GFM shall be furnished by the Contractor. (e) The Contractor shall perform disconnecting, disassembling, cleaning, visual inspection, repairing, painting, testing, reassembling, and reconnecting and field test for acceptance as indicated and tabulated on the attached drawings. Submittal of reports resulted from visual inspection and tests shall also be included. The solicitation will be issued on/about 23 Jul 2007 within two weeks for proposal response time.
