- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation to provide and install furniture for three rooms at the Air Force Air University Library Bldg 1405, Maxwell AFB, AL prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This is an unrestricted full and open acquisition. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number F2XHD87136A100 is being issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) using Simplified Acquisition Procedures under FAR 13. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-17 (15 May 2007) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) change notice 20070522. It is the offeror?s responsibility to be familiar with applicable clauses and provisions. The North American Industry Classification System code is 442110 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. This is a furniture requirement for three rooms at the Air Force Air University Library Bldg 1405. A site visit will be held on June 26th at 9:00 am Central Daylight Time. Vendors wishing to attend this site visit shall provide names of all personnel planning to attend and Company name to SSgt Edwin Baldomero at edwin.baldomero@maxwell.af.mil by June 25th at 4:00 pm Central Daylight Time. Attendees are required to show up at the Maxwell Air Force Base Visitors Center located at the Bell Street Gate by 8:30 am to be escorted. All interested vendors shall attend the site visit listed as it will be necessary to complete and provide a proposal design based on information given at the site visit. The purpose of this requirement is to furnish three rooms the first room will be furnished as follows; Six (6) Study Carrels; the second as follows; 1.) Eight (8) Bookcases, 2.) One (1) Desk 3.) One (1) Lateral file; the third as follows; 1.) Eight (8) Bookcases, 2.) One (1) Conference Table 3.) One (1) Desk 4.) Two (2) Lateral files. All furniture for the second and third room must be wood with a Cambridge Cherry (Kimball) finish or equivalent. Award will be made on the basis of the lowest evaluated priced quote meeting or exceeding the technical standards set forth in this combined synopsis/solicitation. Technical Acceptability will be determined based on the following minimum requirements. Contractor will install six study carrels and two sets of office furniture in three rooms available. Tolerances in the carrel room are very close--less than an in thirteen feet of wall space. Contractor will also terminate power and category five connections provided by Maxwell IT services in the base plates of the carrel enclosures. The rooms are currently empty; so reconfiguration is not an issue. Panels, components, and hardware shall be provided by a single manufacturer. The completed installation shall comply with FED-STD 795 and NFPA 101. Ability to provide the optimal solution to the customer?s request and fit study carrels into space allocated. Interested vendors must quote on all items. Partial quotes will not be accepted. Only one (1) award will be made as a result of this combined synopsis/solicitation. Vendors must be registered with the following Internet databases to be eligible for award: 1. Dept of Defense Central Contractor Registration (CCR), 2. Vendor On Line Representations and Certifications (ORCA), and 3. Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF). Both CCR and ORCA registrations can be completed on line through http://www.bpn.gov and WAWF registration can be completed at https://wawf.eb.mil. The following DFARS clauses are included by reference: DFARS 252.212-7001, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders Applicable to Defense Acquisition of Commercial Items (Jan 2005) and the following clauses are applicable under sub-paragraph (a) and (b): 252.232-7003, Electronic Submission of Payment Request (Jan 2004). DFARS 252.204-7004 Alternate A Central Contractor Registration (Nov 2003) is also applicable.
