Description
The government intends to acquire this requirement in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. The Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service Office (NWSO), located in Salt Lake City, UT has a requirement for a contractor for installation of five (5) existing outdoor Tsunami Warning Sirens. The units are to be installed in Pacifica, El Granada, Miramar and Pescadero unincorporated area counties. The siren installation will assist the Operational Area in the required Tsunami Ready Warning dissemination per Guidelines #4 of Tsunami Ready requirements. The intended acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to acquire from one source under the authority of 41 USC 235 (c) (1), Only One Responsible Source. The government identified Hormann America, Inc. as the only source who can complete work under proposed contract. Hormann America, Inc. has the knowledge, resources and skills to set and adjust these sirens to satisfy all operations and public safety requirements. This company produced the communication software for the specific siren system to be installed. The government intends to negotiate a firm fixed price purchase order with period of performance anticipated to commence from date of award through Dec 31, 2007. This notice may represent the only official notice. The government reserves the right to solicit bids based on the receipt of affirmative responses to this notice or issue an order to Hormann America, Inc. without further notice. Questions concerning this acquisition must be done in writing and may be faxed to Maria Mendoza at (206)526-6025. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.00. ****The Western Regional Acquisition Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) and complete online Representations and Certifications at http://orca.bpn.gov. NO award can be made unless the vender is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR please access the following web site: http://www.ccr.gov. In order to register with the CCR and to be eligible to receive an award from this acquisition office, all offerors must have a Dun & Bradstreet Number.
