Description
The government intends to acquire this requirement in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. The Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Northwest Regional Office (NWRO), located in Seattle, WA has a requirement for a contractor to operate and maintain an imaging-sonar unit. NOAA will be deploying imaging-sonar units in several Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife hatchery facilities and also in river areas on an intermittent basis to assess the feasibility of counting Chinook Salmon using sonar. The contactor SHALL: 1. Provide assistance with the site selection within the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife hatchery facilities 2. Provide assistance with sonar installation 3. Provide maintenance and operation of the sonar 4. Collect, store and disseminate data from sonar. The intended acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to acquire from one source under the authority of 41 USC 235 (c) (1), Only One Responsible Source. The government identified Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) as the only source who can complete work under proposed contract. WDFW is in unique position to provide these services at greater efficiency and a considerably lower cost because WDFW operates the facilities and the WDFW biologists are more familiar with these areas because of the management and survey work integral to their work. The government reserves the right to solicit bids based on the receipt of affirmative responses to this notice or issue an order to WDFW without further notice. The government intends to negotiate a firm fixed price purchase order with period of performance anticipated to commence July 1, 2007 and will end Dec 31, 2008. This notice may represent the only official notice. Questions concerning this acquisition must be done in writing and may be faxed to Maria Mendoza at (206)526-6025. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.00. ****The Western Regional Acquisition Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) and complete online Representations and Certifications at http://orca.bpn.gov. NO award can be made unless the vender is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR please access the following web site: http://www.ccr.gov.
