Description
The National Cancer Institute (NCI) plans to procure on a sole source basis, HumanCNV370-2 Whole Genome Genotyping Kit with Illumina, Inc; 9885 Towne Centre Drive; San Diego, California 92121. The supplies herein are being procured in accordance with the simplified acquisition procedures authorized by FAR Part 13.106-(b) (1). The North American Industry Classification System Code is 325413 and the business size standard is 500 employees. The purpose of this requirement is for the NCI laboratory to undertake a microarray genotyping project to identify SNPs, predisposing for sporadic papillary serous ovarian cancer. The Illumina HumanCNV370-duo platform provides the most complete, accurate, and detailed analysis of the specimens. The HumanCNV370-duo BeadChip contains over 370,000 informative SNP markers spanning the human genome. This set design uses polymorphic markers derived from Phase I and II of the HapMap project/study and additional content covering copy variant regions of the genome. The manufacturing technology, array design, and detection methods of the Illumina arrays are entirely owned by Illumina, Inc. Furthermore, it is not known to the NCI that there are any licensed systems, instruments, or arrays offered by third party providers that are able to use any component of the Illumina BeadChip genotyping system. In addition, in order to satisfy the requirements of the HapMap project/study and ensure the data generated can be incorporated into an extensive pre-existing database derived using the HumanCNV370-duo BeadChip microarray platform, the proposed project must adhere to the conditions, reagents, and array platform previously used. Otherwise, subsequent data analysis and clinical validation will be compromised. Changing variables at this time will be detrimental to the current HapMap project/study. This is not a request for competitive quotation. However, if any interested party believes it can meet the above requirement, it may submit a statement of capabilities. The statement of capabilities and any other information furnished must be in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow the researcher to determine if the party can meet this requirement. One (1) original and one (1) copy of the capability statement must be received in the contracting office by 1:00 pm ET on June 21, 2007. All questions must be in writing and can be faxed to 301-402-4513 or sent via email to holdcram@exchange.nih.gov. It is the vendors responsibility to insure questions have been received. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No collect calls will be accepted. In order to receive an award, contractor must have a valid, updated registration and certification in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). Please reference NCI-70067-NG on all correspondence.
