- NAICS Code: 334516 This synopsis is being provided to publish a requirement for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Research and Development (ORD), National Risk Management Research Laboratory (NRMRL) in Cincinnati, Ohio which has a requirement for a microarrying system that can provide for user-defined, customized microarray anslysis. This instrument will be delivered to and installed at the U.S.EPA NRMRL Cincinnati laboratory where it will remain and be used for DNA detection and/or gene expression for research associated with detecting waterborne pathogens in furtherance of clean and safe drinking water goals. The Microarrying System being sought must meet the following specifications: (1) microarray spotting capacity for 50 standard 1" x 3" microscope slides, with additional ability to print into 96-well plates (2) hold print head with 48-pin capacity (3) ability to deposit 4000 spots per slide per hour, with a resolution of 2.5 microns and repeatability and accuracy of + 5 microns (4) hybridization unit capable of handling at least 4 standard slides (5) scanner with pixel resolution of 5 microns for entire slide surface, at leaset two solid state lasers (532nm green and 635nm red) (6) computer system control of the microarray spotting unit The North American Industry Classification Code is 334516 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. A written solicitation, RFQ-OH-07-00119, is anticipated to be issued early on the week 6/11. All responsible businesses may submit a quotation in response to the solicitation which shall be considered by the Agency. This procurement will be pursued using FAR Part 12 Commercial Acquisition methods and procedures. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer is determined to be low cost and technically acceptable. Products must meet all the minimum requirements and specifications of the Statement of Work (SOW) in order to be acceptable. Contract type will be firm fixed price.
