- Description
- The US Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Information and Technology anticipates a competitive procurement of Hewlett Packard (HP) brand name equipment off of the NASA SEWP IV Contract. This brand name intent is for reasons of performance, cost, and time. HP Laptops and Tablets are the Office of Information and Technology's existing standard hardware. By purchasing additional HP Laptops and Tablets, the VA can ensure a stable, efficient, and highly available operating platform, in addition to infrastructure continuity, interoperability, and proper interfacing. The procurement of non-HP Laptops and Tablets would cause additional training for support and replacement of existing systems that interface to ensure connectivity. Responses to this notice must be in writing and must be received by 12:00pm cst on June 11, 2007. Third part firms will be considered only if responding with clear and convincing evidence that the Government will avoid additional cost of ownership and production will not be effected if non-HP equipment is purchased. The determination to open brand name competition based on responses is solely with in the discretion of the Government. No additional synopsis will be published, and a solicitation will only be issued to SEWP IV contract holders, regardless of the Government's brand name decision. Responses should be emailed to kari.cozzens@va.gov or faxed to 512-326-6028.
