- THIS IS NOT A SET-ASIDE ACQUISITION. THIS RFP IS OPEN TO BOTH LARGE AND SMALL BUSINESS. AWARD WILL BE PROCESSED PURSUANT TO THE SMALL BUSINESS COMPETITIVENESS DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 6, Lakewood, Colorado is requesting proposals from qualified and eligible firms capable of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials to rehabilitate refuge fences in accordance with attached specifications, drawings, and bid schedule. The project includes: 1. Installing approximately 9.6 miles of new 3 strand barb-wire boundary fence. 2. Rehabilitating approximately 5.0 miles of barb-wire boundary fence. 3. Removing approximately 9.25 miles of barb-wire boundary fence. The boundary fence installation and rehabilitation will include installation of wire and metal gates. The fence materials removed shall be disposed of at an off-site, approved disposal area. LOCATION AND INSPECTION OF SITE The sites for fence rehabilitation are at the Lost Trail National Wildlife Refuge, which is located in the west-central portion of Flathead County approximately 25 air-miles west of Kalispell, Montana in the serene and picturesque mountain drainage known as Pleasant Valley. Pleasant Valley is located 20 miles north-northwest of the small, rural town of Marion, Montana. By automobile, the Refuge is approximately 40 miles from Kalispell. Prospective bidders may inspect the sites by contacting the Project Leader at Lost Trail National Wildlife Refuge, 6295 Pleasant Valley Road, Marion, MT, 59925. Phone No. (406) 858-2286. The estimated magnitude of construction is under $100,000.00. The total performance is 90 days from the Notice to Proceed. This acquisition is open to both large and small business concerns. The NAICS code 238990 and small business size standard is $13 Million. The solicitation package is anticipated to available electronically on/or about June 5, 2007 with an anticipated closing date of July 5, 2007.
