Description
The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate, Rome NY intends to solicit and negotiate a sole source purchase order under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 with Mercury Computer Systems Inc, 199 Riverneck Road, Chelmsford MA 01824-2820 for the purchase of the following items: One (1) Interlink Race ++ 6 slot dual port DLK6P processing unit. One (1) Momentum Series VPA-200 dual 7448 circuit board with 512 MB memory, two PMC sites, dual GigE ports, and dual serial ports. One (1) Scientific Algorithm Library (SAL) software for G4 Evaluation license (3 users for 1 year). Though this notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, information received by the response date of this solicitation will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The NAICS code is 334111. Sole Source Justification: AFRL/IFEC has identified the above processing unit, circuit board, and software components as the only items compatible with the technical requirements for the Advanced Web Processor (AWP). At this time Mercury Computer Systems Inc is the only known source that manufactures and distributes the Interlink Race Module, Momentum Circuit Board, and the Scientific Algorithm Library (SAL) Software. These adaptable components significantly improve performance for computationally intense high performance computing applications, parallel processing, and integration with the current Advanced Wideband Processor configuration while also reducing space and weight.
