Description
The Intramural Research Program (IRP), National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a sole source purchase to MBF Bioscience, Inc., 185 Allen Brook Lane, Suite 101, Williston, VT 05495, USA. NAICS CODE 333314 and the size standard is 500. The Stereo Investigator system for performing design-based stereology on isotropic or vertical (anisotropic) sections is a unique product that performs functions that can not be found in any other commercially-available system. MBF Bioscience, Inc. is the manufacturer and sole distributor in North America. The following is needed: A computarized system that will be adapted and work in conjunction with our "current" Leica DM4000 Microscope to allow the morphological analyses of several novel transgenic strains developed in our lab. A motorized stage, high resolution camera, advanced software and computer support will be used to allow for accurate cell counts, fiber density measurements and volume definitions. These measurements will allow us to determine the effects that a specific genetic mutation may have on the neuronal pathways leading to drug abuse. This notice may represent the only official notice. This is a Simplified Acquisition with the estimated value of less than $100,000.00 threshold. This acquisition is being procured under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy this agency?s requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
