- The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with GE Medical, Service (GE) Chicago IL to disconnect, disassemble, move and relocate the GE Computed Tomography Unit (CT) located at the Lakeside CBOC, Chicago IL to the Jesse Brown VAMC, Chicago IL. This procurement is being conducted in accordance FAR 6.302, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 811219. To the best of our knowledge, GE Medical as the manufacturer of this equipment is the only vendor who can provide custom designed moving equipment to mobilize the CT. GE as the manufacturer of the equipment is also responsible to ensure that the integrity of the equipment will be maintained under their existing PM contract with JBVAMC. Based upon the above a sole source contract is anticipated. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Office within (seven) 7 calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with GE Medical.
