Description
This project will engage an Architect/Engineer to provide Contract Drawings, Specifications, Construction Cost Estimate, Engineering Calculations, and subsequent Construction Period Services for the above referenced project, specifically to involve: The renovation/conversion of two (2) existing single bed/single bath patient rooms into complete isolation rooms based on either VA Design Guide (TB Primer) criteria or CDS guidelines (Guidelines for Preventing the Transmission of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis in Healthcare Settings, 2005), whichever is more stringent, and the VA HVAC Design Manual for Hospitals. Work will include: The addition of full ante rooms. Stand-alone HVAC systems on emergency power with connections the medical center's EMSC system including alarm systems and monitoring lights. Door alarm systems to alert the nursing staff to close entrance doors when the room is being used under isolation room conditions. The A/E shall provide a detailed construction cost estimate based on the contract drawings and specifications. All designs are to be to VA Design criteria.
