Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This RFQ and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-17. This solicitation is set aside for small business concerns, NAICS 321992, Prefabricated Wood Building Manufacture, with a small business size standard of fewer than 500 employees. The National Park Service encourages the participation of small, disadvantaged, and women-owned businesses. The Government intends to issue a firm-fixed price contract to the responsible offeror whose total offer represents the best value for the Government, price and other factors considered. BACKGROUND: North Cascades National Park is interested in purchasing yurts for the temporary housing of approximately 10-25 seasonal employees, working in Stehekin, Washington. Stehekin is a rural community within the Lake Chelan National Recreation Area at the head of Lake Chelan. Temperatures in the Stehekin Valley range from the upper 90's to the upper 20's during the period we anticipate using these structures. Summers are primarily dry with some rains. The yurts may be used in an area of full sun during 3-4 months of the use, partial or full shade during remaining months. These structures may also be exposed to windy conditions. These structures are not intended to be used in months of heavy snow, they will be dismantled and stored for the winter months. SPECIFICATIONS: 24' diameter standard yurt, with the following minimum salient characteristics: Wall height of 6'; Flame retardant vinyl/polyester covers, roof and sidewalls; 2 windows (please indicate whether they are wood, vinyl, wood covered vinyl etc); Dome; Wooden frames, walls and rafters; Seamless top cover; Stainless steel and aluminum hardware; 10-15 year guarantee on side and roof coverings.
