- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dry Dock and repairs to the USCGC JOSHUA APPLEBY (WLM-556). The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The acquisition will be solicited Total Small Business Set-Aside. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about June 15, 2007. The RFQ will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPS) web page at www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. Send all request via e-mail to Arlene.V.Woodley@uscg.mil. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FEDBIZOPS also contains a n option automatic notification service. The standard industrial classification code is 3732 and the NAICS is 336611. The homeport of the vessel is St. Petersburg, FL All work will be performed at the contractor?s facility. The performance period will be 72 calendar days with a start date on or about September 18, 2007. The scope of the acquisition is for 1) Welding Repairs; 2) Renew Structural Closures; 3) Clean Shipboard Ventilation Systems; 4) Inspect Bow Thruster Tunnel and Lower Unit; 5) Inspect Shaft Bearings; 6) Inspect Z-Drive Propulsion Units; 7) Overhaul and Renew Valves; 8) Perform Buoy Chain Winch Maintenance and EC 175-A-050 Modification; 9) Perform Mechanical Chain Stopper Maintenance; 10) Perform Cross Deck Winch Maintenance; 11) Perform Hydraulic Chain Stopper Maintenance; 12) Preserve Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks; 13) Preserve Cargo Hold Centerline Bilge Area; 14) Preserve Buoy Working Areas; 15) Preserve Underwater Body; 16) Preserve Aluminum Mast; 17) Provide Temporary Logistics; 18) Renew Cathodic Protection System; 19) Clean Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks and Repair Vent Lines; 20) Clean, Inspect and Preserve Sea Bay; 21) Perform Anchor, Anchor Chain, and Ground Tackle Maintenance; 22) Preserve Ballast Tank; 23) Preserve Chain Locker; 24) Renew Transducers and Preserve Transducer Hull Rings; 25) Fabricate and Install Sea Strainers; 26) Routine Drydocking; 27) Reseal Cosmetic Polymeric Deck Covering Systems; 28) Modify Shower Stalls and Deck Covering (EC 175-X-XXX); 29) Install Chlorine Injection System (EC 175-X-XXX). Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures shall accomplish all welding and brazing. There are no geographic restrictions.
