Description
PROJECT TITLE: San Juan Water District Water Treatment Plant Hydraulic Improvements LOCATION: Granit Bay, Placer County, California The estimated magnitude of this project is between $10,000,000 and $20,000,000. The project is categorized under NAICS Code 237110, SIC Code 1629 and FSC Code Z245. The Small Business Size Standard, as established by the U.S. Small Business Administration, for the identified NAICS Code is $31,000,000. ALL TECHNICAL AND PROJECT-RELATED QUESTIONS WILL BE R EQUIRED TO BE SUBMITTED VIA THE PROJ-NET WEBSITE; PROJ-NET ACCESS INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND IN SECTION 00100 OF THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP). Large businesses competing for this project must comply with FAR 52.219-9, Small Business Subcontracting Plan, and the requirements of Section 00110 of the RFP. The RFP will be issued on or about 4 January 200 7, with proposals due on/about 6 February 2007; the specific date and time for proposal submission will be identified in the RFP. A technical and price proposal will be required for evaluation by the Government, resulting in selection of a firm that repre sents the best value to the Government. OFFERORS ARE ADVISED THAT THIS PROJECT MAY BE DELAYED, CANCELED OR REVISED AT ANY TIME DURING THE RFP PROCESS. JOB DESCRIPTION: The required work elements include, but may not be limited to: 1) sedim ent basin improvements consisting of concrete demolition, replacement of tube settlers and launderers, and re-habilitation of existing concrete; 2) installation of approximately 450 linear feet of 54-inch diameter steel pipeline including butterfly valve s ystems, bonding of joints, excavation, dewatering, shoring, backfill, compaction, and replacement of paving; 3) installation of approximately 300 linear feet of 72-inch diameter treated water piping; 4) construction of a new settled water channel including demolition, concrete forming and placement, and installation of metal supports and other features; 5) re-lining of existing steel pipeline; and 6) retrofitting existing plant equipment. ALL WORK WILL BE REQUIRED TO BE PERFORMED WHILE THE PLANT CONTINUES NORMAL OPERATIONS. Work performance will also require tunneling under existing operational facilities, as well as working within both confined space and close quarters.
