As the required technology is proprietary to PI, no other manufacturer has commercially available instruments that would be 100 percent compatible with NIST?s existing equipment. PI (Physik Instrumente), LP, of Auburn, Massachusetts is a subsidiary of PI (Physik Instrumente) headquartered in Germany. There are no other manufacturers or resellers of these items in the U.S. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, responses received by June 1, 2007 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
