Description
This is a Sources Sought Notice for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only notice for sources sought. Reques t for company background and capabilities brief are being sought and requested for this notice. An official solicitation notice is not applicable and will not be issued. BACKGROUND: Fort Riley, 1st Infantry Division (1ID) is looking for qualified foreign l anguage instructor(s) for specific language instruction in the Afghan Dari and Arabic (Iraqi) Dialect in support of the Military Transition Teams deploying to Afghanistan and Iraq. The purpose of the instruction is to familiarize, instruct and validate eac h soldier's ability to speak basic Dari and Iraqi phrases. The training objectives will consist of at least 30 hours of the basic Dari and Iraqi Language. The following tasks to be trained are: (1) Describe Alphabet and Letter Pronounciation; (2) Conduct G reeting and Introductions; (3) Describe Questions Words; (4) Describe Personal, Possessive and Demonstrative Pronouns; (5) Perform Verb Conjunction; (6) Describe and Conduct Individual Commands; (7) Describe Numbers; (8) Describe Days of the Week; (9) Desc ribe and Perform Telling Time; (10) Describe Months and Holidays; (11) Understand Culture, Family and Food; (12) Describe Receiving and Giving Directions; (13) Describe Military Ranks and Organizations; (14) Describe and Understand Weapons Terminology; (15 ) Perform Identification and Tactical Questioning Procedures; (16) Perform Check Point Procedures; (17) Perform Cordon and Search Operations; (18) Describe and Understand Medical/Health Terminology. CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES: (1) Shall provide a Project Manager/Lead Instructor; (2) Shall prepare and submit a Technical and Management Plan to ensure understanding of the training objectives; (3) Shall be responsible for all transporation and lodging requirements; (4) Shall submit company capability brief no later than June 5, 2007 by electronic means in accordance with the training objectives prescribed herein to: wilfredo.delatorre@us.army.mil. GOVERNMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: (1) Provide classroom facilities and office spaces, as needed. (2) Ensure soldiers arr ive at the designated classrooms in appropriate uniforms.
