- Description
- The Department of Justice, Justice Management Division's Facilities and Administrative Services Staff, intends to issue a sole source purchase order using simplified acquisition procedures, to Crenshaw Lighting Corp. (Crenshaw) of Floyd, Virginia. Crenshaw was commissioned by the prime contractor of the General Service Administration (GSA) to modernize the Robert F. Kennedy (RFK) Building, located at 950 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC, to manufacture custom light fixtures, wall sconces, etc. to replicate and preserve the historic product and nature of the building. Crenshaw has the special tooling, dyes, machinery and expertise necessary to replicate these items. The Department has a current need for the production of additional lighting and parts to change out existing pieces and other specialty products relating the continued operations of the building. In keeping with the historic, building standard emphasized by GSA in the eight year, three phased upgrade of the RFK, staff's pending award will be for the same type, size, color, etc. of product(s) that were installed in the modernization. Responses received as a result of this notice of intent shall be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement and will not be considered as either proposals or bids. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition, based upon the written responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Written inquiries shall include a statement of qualification or past performance on replicating historic products.
