Description

This solicitation will be available at http://ideasec.nbc.gov website on or about 05/23/2007. A. The work of this contract consists of providing and installing on a government furnished Cab and Chassis a 20 cubic yard hydraulically actuated, rear loader refuse packer body. The packer body shall use a two point connection point and a kicker bar to lift and dump the refuse containers. The packer body shall be in compliance with the specifications provided herein and with all current safety standards including the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) A245.1. All parts and equipment furnished shall be new and unused. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials and fees associated with installation of packer body. The packer body shall be totally functioning, "turn key" installed on government furnished cab and chassis to be a fully functioning unit. The bid shall include delivery to Assateague Island National Seashore Headquarters located at 7206 National Seashore Drive, Berlin Maryland 21811. The contractor shall provide a packer body from a manufacturer actively engaged in design and manufacturing of refuse collection equipment. The specifications contained herein are not fully inclusive of all requirements. It is the intent of the government to obtain a fully functioning packer body including all standard General Specifications, Body and Construction Specifications, Standard Equipment and selected Optional Equipment. The potential bidder may submit a packer body from any manufacturer. The government has reviewed the following packer bodies and determined that they meet or exceed the government requirements within this specification. PAK-MOR R120B Rear Loader, with standard equipment and optional Roll Bar container handling device 3000 pound capacity, strobe lights, hopper lights, rear vision camera, tool box and street side access door. New Way Viper Series 20RL with standard equipment and special lighting and container lift.
