Description
This notice is to announce that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Marine Sanctuary, Honolulu, Hawaii has a requirement for a firm fixed price contract for the Discovery Center Greeting Station, Exhibit Refurbishing, and Storage Creation. Scope of Work Greeting Station: Daily operations of the facility, greeting of visitors, and fielding of most questions from visitors are currently handled by a staff of docents. As the facility is constructed now, there is not an adequate or obvious place for docents to sit, and be best positioned to greet visitors, store their bags, and do other work as needed, such as computer work. The installation of an enclosed greeting station in the front entryway would also serve as additional space for displaying a welcome exhibit panel, house a secured computer and a workspace to provide informational materials. Storage: Install storage space in the program room and behind the aquarium. Design the top of the storage units in the program room as an exhibit space for small three dimensional objects. ? Provide and install kitchen area hanging cabinets over counter space to store aquarium supplies. Two wall spaces, one is 8? across, the other 6.5? across. The two walls meet, but form an acute angle. Ceilings are 8? high. Storage must be at least 1? deep. ? Provide and install aquarium room storage hanging unit to store aquarium supplies. One hanging unit will be 8? in length, and approximately 2? tall. The other is 6? in length, and can be up to 4? in height. Storage must be at least 1? deep. ? Provide and install program room custom locking storage along walls under existing panels and screen to store 12 6? folding tables and educational materials. The six or more storage units will be approximately 18? in depth, and 3? in height. Top of storage usable as exhibit space for small three dimensional objects and graphics, and have clear acrylic tops. The top of the cases will be sloping. They will be designed to compliment the existing displays and cabinetry. Lighting: Highlight the new exhibit cases in the program room in order to enhance the current exhibits that are located in that room. Lighting should highlight specific parts of the room and also be flexible enough for the multipurpose aspects of the room. In addition, install three additional electrical outlets behind our 2,500 gallon aquarium to better make use of the space and avoid the occasional need of extension cords in public areas. The government reserves the right to solicit bids based on the receipt of affirmative responses to this notice. A firm fixed price purchase order will be issued with performance period of one year from date of award. All interested parties must respond to this announcement within fifteen (15) calendar days of its publication. All responses must be in writing and may be faxed to (206)526-6025, attention Melvin N. Fondue. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.00 Mandatory Clause: The Western Administrative Support Center, Acquisition Management Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this acquisition office must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) before contract award. NO award can be made unless the vendor is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR please access the following web site: http:///www.ccr.gov/.
