Description

With this announcement, the Chicago District Corps of Engineers issues a Pre-solicitation Notice for its Burns Harbor Dredging Project. The Contractor will be responsible for hydraulically dredging 131,500 cubic yards of material and disposal of the material in an open lake disposal area 1 mile North of Burns Harbor. Material must be discharged in the bottom 1/3 of the water column. The areas to be dredged are the East Harbor arm (-27.5 LWD) and a section of the outer harbor (-28.5 LWD) each has 1' of overdepth allowed. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System (NAICS) 237990  Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction this acquisition is TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. The Small Business Size Standard is $18.5 Million. The estimated magnitude of the proposed procurement is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The Invitation For Bid (IFB) Package will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY. The project specification files are Portable Document Forma t (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigated or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. The solicitation will be available at the above-mentioned Internet site on or about 16 May 2007. The due date for bids will be on or about 19 June 2007 at 2:00 P.M. Chicago Local Time. In order for contractors to conduct business with the Department o f Defense, the contractor must provide registration information to the Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Contractors can access the CCR for free at http//www.ccr.gov. The Government intends to award a FIRM-FIXED PRICE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT.
