- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes ar e being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Solicitation, W912EF-07-0084, is issued as a request for quotes (RFQ). The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code for this procurement is 423610. This requirement is being issued for full and open competition. Please submit quotes to the Army Corps of Engineers, 201 N. 3rd, Walla Walla, WA 99362, Attention L. Birdsell. Please include Representations and Certification Documents with the quotes as requi red in FAR 52.212-3. All quotes are due by 8 May 2007, 1:00 pm PDT. FOB DESTINATION shall be Pomeroy, WA 99347. The successful offeror must be registered with Central Contractors Registration (CCR) prior to award of contract. INTENT The following spec ifications pertain to the purchase of control cable for use at Lower Granite Lock and Dam. SCOPE The successful offeror shall be required to deliver six (6) 1000-foot spools of Belden brand (or approved equal), plenum rated, multi-conductor tray cable 271 02S to Lower Granite Dam within eight (8) weeks of contract award. CABLE SPECIFICATIONS The cable shall be Belden brand (Or Approved Equal) plenum rated multi conductor tray cable. It shall meet the following specifications: Cable spools to contain 1000 feet of uncut cable; 24 individually insulated conductors with unique color code IAW ICEA table E2; Each conductor shall consist of 7 strands of 22 gauge bare copper; Insulation constructed of cross linked polyethylene insulation; Rated for 600 volts: Jack et constructed of low smoke, halogen free materials: Maximum temperature rating of 90C; Suitable for use in wet or dry environments; Unshielded; Pass UL 1581 flame test; Approved for use in Class 1 circuits. SUBMITTALS Before acceptance of Or Approved Equa l offers, submittals must be approved by an electrical engineer. Submittals shall include cable construction materials and specifications showing that the suggested substitute meets all requirements. EVALUATION: Award will be made to the lowest priced tech nically acceptable offeror. SHIPMENT AND DELIVERY All items shall be delivered FOB to Lower Granite Dam, Attn: Shawn Buckendahl, 885 Almota Ferry Rd., Pomeroy, WA 99347 within 8 weeks of contract award. The contractor shall be responsible for packing and shipping the cable in a manner that will ensure undamaged and complete arrival at Lower Granite Dam. No shipments are allowed outside normal business hours of Monday Thursday 6:30am 4pm, excluding holidays.
