Description
The contractor shall replace two overhead garage doors (exit and entrance) and auxiliary operating equipment for the parking garage. The exit door shall be located so as to ensure the maximum exiting height. The contractor shall supply all materials, equipment, labor, and supervision to perform the work under this contract and shall provide a one (1) year warranty for parts and materials at the completion of this project. It is the intent of this contract to have one (1) 13'9 and one (1) 13'2 Spiral Aluminum (18 gauge) Slatted Rytec High Speed Doors (or equal) installed. Doors shall have: Double walled aluminum slats Hood cover Extruded aluminum bottom bar capable of releasing in either direction w/o damage Standard dual cut-off switches No exposed junction box on bottom bar Travel speed of 50 inches per second Painted finish: Bronze Anodized Drive System shall have: 3 phase, variable speed AC Drive Independent opening/closing speeds Motor/electrical components factory wired Electrical Controls shall have: NEMA 4 rated enclosure Factory set parameters Self-diagnostic features Programmable inputs and outputs Conduit and wiring to attach to building system The contractor qualifications: The contractor, manufacturer, and installer shall have five (5) years of experience in the fabrication and installation of these types of doors. The contractor shall provide shop drawings within fifteen (15) days of award. These drawings shall include: detailed plans, elevations, details of framing members, anchoring methods, required clearances, hardware and accessories shall include relationship with adjacent construction. The contractor shall provide a certification that the proposed products meet or exceed specified requirements. The garage door control operating equipment shall be interfaced and compatible with the Poff Federal Building security swipe card system and shall have a manual chain hoist override opening/closing capability. Variable speed AC drive, Self Diagnostic Controllers and motors shall be UL listed and be able to move the door 50 inches per second in either direction and have reversing safety edges. The available electrical voltages for the motor operation for this projects are 460 volts, 277 volts, 208 volts and 120 volts. All doors, framing, support systems, guides, shall be weather proof, caulked, prime coated and painted to offer maximum protection from dust and moisture and match the building aesthetics. This garage door project work shall not prevent tenants access or egress during normal building working hours 6 am to 6 pm. This garage door project may be temporarily stopped by GSA for security reasons and other causes. Work on this project may be preformed after hours, holidays and weekends. The garage door openings, entrance/egress shall be secured at all times while work is being completed and be made functional and accessible during building occupation hours. All on site workers shall complete the required background security checks and finger print cards and obtain a GSA picture ID badge prior to commencement of on-site work. The contractor must submit security clearance forms within ten (10) days of receipt of award. Failure to submit security clearance forms in a timely manner will not extend the contract performance period. ID badges shall be worn by the contractors at all times while working on-site and each Government ID badge shall be surrendered to GSA after completion of project. A pre-bid meeting will be conducted on Monday, 14, 2007 at 9:00 A.M. in Room 702 at the Poff Federal Building. Confirm attendance with James Wilson at GSA 540/857-2174 prior to that date. Bids shall be due by close of business Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. Award is expected prior to June 30, 2007. A start date of August 15, 2007 is expected and will depend upon submittals and security clearances. This project shall be completed within sixty (60) days of award. Liquidated damages shall be $100/day for late completion. Payment shall be made within thirty (30) days of GSA inspection and acceptance.
