Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing this Sources Sought Announcement to determine interest and availability of 8(a), HUBZone, and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned concerns. The NAICS code for the work described below is 2 37990 with a size standard of $31,000,000. The work involves designing, furnishing, installing, and testing a new vital microprocessor based railroad signal control system. System includes interlocked bridge and adjacent switches and signals. The contra ctor would be required to complete a detailed signal system design including all hardware, software, firmware, and documentation. The contractor would perform factory testing of system components, field installation of signal cable, field testing of comp onents and of the complete signal system, and cutover from the existing signal system to the new signal system. The contractor must have experience in the installation of railroad signal systems. The contractors signal system designers shall have a minimum of ten years experience in the design of railroad signal circuits. The contractors foreman shall have a min imum of fifteen years experience in signal system construction. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification size (e.g. 8(a), HUBZone, etc.), qualifications, experience and completed project examples with references in performing the work requirements stated a bove. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. Responses are required no later than 4 May 2007. Responses s hould be addressed to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, 696 Virginia Road, Concord, MA 01742-2751, ATTN: David Dilks (CT-C). Firms interested shall provide the above documentation, in one original form and one copy. The government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. The results of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
