Description

The Norfolk District is offering for sale approximately 5,025 tons of standing pine sawtimber; 2,300 tons of standing pine chip and saw; 806 tons of standing pine pulpwood; 6,676 tons of standing hardwood sawtimber; and 1,615 tons of standing hardwoo d pulpwood on approximately 264 acres at Fort A.P. Hill, Bowling Green, Virginia. The total number of items for this sale is five (5). The timber to be sold may be inspected by prospective purchasers through May 15, 2007. Inspection days will be Tuesday and Thursday. Friday will be a by appointment day. Arrangements for inspections should be made by contacting Mr. Paul Carter, telephone (434) 292-2500 - cell phone (757) 613-7848; or Mr. Larry Capelle, Fort A.P. Hill DPW, telephone (804) 633-8409. Seal ed bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2007, by the Acquisition, Management, and Disposal Section, Real Estate Office, Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 803 Front Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23510-1096, and then and there publicly opened and announced. Forms for use in submitting bids may be obtained from Mr. Carter at Fort Pickett or from the Acquisition, Management, and Disposal Section, address shown above. Terms and conditions of sale, procedure for submitting bids, a nd a description of the timber are contained in the bid forms. All items of this sale will be sold by WEIGHT.
