- NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is planning to purchase from Accu-Temp Inc., Kentube Engineers Products Co. Items: Fuel Economizer / Heat Exchanger. This is a direct replacement of the existing Fuel Economizer which was installed as a part of the Keeler Boiler in 1979. By purchasing a direct replacement of the original equipment, the cost of installation will be minimized. The dimensions of the replacement must be compatible with the existing (i.e. any connections, water, flue) in order to eliminate any required field modifications. The performance of the Kentube Fuel Economizer is matched to the pressurized requirements of the Keeler Boiler. This impacts not only the preheat characteristics of the feedwater, but also the gas temperature requirements of the baghouse. The agency is unaware of any comparable product on the market that will meet the needs of the agency. However, the agency will consider any response(s) to this announcement received by April, 22, 2006, in determining whether or not to compete this requirement. If the agency determines to compete this requirement, a RFQ will be issued solely to the responder of this notice; a subsequent presolicitation notice will not be issued. Simplified Acquisition Procedures will be utilized. All vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) prior to award of a Federal Contract. Vendors may register at www.ccr.gov. NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (07-APR-2006).
