Description
Seeking qualifications of vendors capable of providing the necessary labor, equipment, material and supervision necessary to repair a wood support beam at the West Point Ski Slope, U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY 10996. The wood beam is approximately 4 wide x 14 tall and 26 long. The beam has been damaged by ants, and the visible area of damage is approximately 3 in length on both building interior and exterior surfaces. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Contractor shall: a) Install shoring / support of the existing wood beam in question and the surrounding roof / ceiling. b.) Remove the two adjacent window panes including all trim. The glass and trim shall be stored on site. The window panes and trim shall be re-installed after beam repair. c.) Remove all damaged areas of the wood beam and prepare for replacement. The beam shall be repaired by means of relaminating and epoxy injection. Therefore the beam will not be removed from the structure. d.) After the beam has been repaired the beam will be stained to match the existing wood as close as possible. e.) Re-install the two window panes and all trim. Prior to the trim installation around the window, install one perimeter bead of window and door caulk. f.) Contractor shall clean the interior and exterior of the work site. General Note: Awarded contractor must demonstrate experience in wood epoxy injection and laminated wood beam repairs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Interested parties are asked to provide a brief statement of qualifications to perform this contract, including (a) size of business and all applicable designations (e.g., small business, large business, 8(a), HUBZone, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, woman-owned small business, etc.), (b) geographical location of business, (c) statement as to whether the interested party has made prior sales to or performed prior work/services at the U.S. Military Academy and (d) statement as to whether the i nterested party is currently registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and Online Representations & Certifications Application (ORCA) websites.
