Description

TENTS FOR PUBLIC SERVICE RECOGNITION WEEK 1. SCOPE: 1.1 Contractor shall furnish all labor, material and equipment to install tents for PSRW To include tents, flooring, carpet, pipe and drape assemblies, and two marquees. 2. Location: 2.1 Capital Mall between 4th St. and 7th St. and Jefferson Dr. and Madison Dr. Washington D.C. 3. SPECIFICATIONS: 3.1 Tent layout will be provided no later than 7 days prior to the event. Installation of tent floors shall begin Saturday, MAY 5, 2007 at 8; 00 AM and shall be completed no later than 5:00 PM on Sunday, MAY 6, 2007. Flooring will consist of ? plywood sec ured to stringers with a load bearing capacity of 100 lbs. per sq. foot, and shall be secured by screws or other mechanical fasteners, and must be staked down along the edges with all materials and debris removed before aircraft land on the National Mall on Monday morning at 5:55AM. Removal of tents will start on Sunday, May, 13, 2007 at 5:00 PM and must be completed by 5:00 AM on Monday, May 14, 2007, to permit the safe departure of aircraft. Flooring may be removed after departure of aircraft, but must r emain staked down along edges until after the departure of all the aircraft. Contingent upon weather conditions, the contractor may be delayed from erecting and/or dissembling tents for up to 24 hours in order to permit the landing and departure of aircraf ts. All plywood flooring shall be covered with green or blue Astroturf carpeting. All carpeting throughout tents and entrance shall match in color. 3.1 Contractor shall furnish and install carpeting for the tents and entrance to the D.A. tent. Size of carpet is approx. 4 x 10. 3.2 Contractor shall be held responsible for the complete set up of tents on the end date and time. Contractor shall also be responsible for any damage to the electrical wiring located beneath the plywood flooring, i.e., drilling into the plywood floor ing when securing the pipe and drape assemblies. Contractor shall be required to seek prior approval of the FMMC Representative before drilling into plywood flooring. 3.3 All tents shall be of the same color, (white or off white in color) and be in new or like new condition, free of holes and or tears and must be clean. Exterior wall material of the tents must be capable of being rolled up or raised to allow for air cir culation. Sizes of tents: DOD tent-60x250x10high. DA tents- one (1) 60x120x10high, one (1) 60x60x10high. Marquees DOD- one (1) 10x10 high. DA- one (1) 10x10high. 3.4 Due to saftey concerns, all ropes used for securing the tent poles shall be marked with white or fluorescent tape at the stake and every three feet of rope. 3.5 ***NOTE***- Contractor will be required to coordinate set up times of tents with the National Capital Park Center. 3.6 OPTION YEARS, IF EXERCISED: This contract shall consist of a base year and three option years. Contractor shall provide a cost breakdown for the base year and the three option years. Event schedule dates shall be subject to change in each option years. Due to the nature of the event, dates are approximate and are subject to change. If the site changes, set up instructions and tent layout will be provided. The successful vendor will have to be willing to adjust the venue site and dates.
