- MARKET RESEARCH AND SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. The Government is issuing the sources sought announcement as part of a market research effort to obtain information on companies who can provide an antenna that is brand name or equal to the Chelton 3160-99 half-loop HF. The salient characteristics are as follows: Operate from 2 to 30 Mhz, Operate with any tactical HF radio using fixed frequencies, frequency hopping, or 2nd and 3rd generation Automatic Link Establishment (ALE), compliant with MIL STD 188-141B. Provide ground wave and sky wave communications, including Near Vertical Incident Sky wave (NVIS). Rated for a minimum of 150 watts RF power. Be installed in a half-loop confirmation on a tactical vehicle using standard whip antenna supports. Weight of antenna, plus all mounting, control and tuning assembles be less than 35 lbs, Height of installed antenna be less than 4 feet and length of installed antenna be less than 8 feet.
