Description

This is a pre-solicitation notice for a contractor to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supervision to perform installation of 900 new railroad crossties on the Valley Railway within the boundaries of Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Cuyahoga and Summit Counties, Ohio. The work consists of replacement of railroad ties within approximately 8 miles of single track mainline railroad, at many various intermittent locations; the ties to be replaced are not all at one continuous location. Work includes out-of-face crosstie installation, surfacing and regulating mainline track, gaging of track, installation of rail anchors. The project performance time is 60 days. The government estimate for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. The NAICS code is 237990. The small business size standard is $31 million. This project is being solicited and awarded in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, Public Law 100-656. Accordingly, it is open to both small and large businesses. The solicitation including specifications, wage rates, and bid schedule will be posted to the websites, http://www.fedbizopps.gov and http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about April 21, 2007.
